Our Trucks & Fleet: Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers from a licensed direct carrier, not a broker.

Does MC Movers own their trucks?

+

Yes. MC Movers is a direct carrier, not a broker, we hold our own interstate operating authority (DOT #2538365, MC #00882866) and manage your move directly rather than reselling it to an unknown carrier the way an online broker marketplace does. This is the key difference between a carrier (us) and a broker.

What size trucks does MC Movers use?

+

Our fleet includes 16-ft, 20-ft, and 26-ft straight trucks for local and regional moves, plus tractor-trailers (53-ft dry vans) for long-distance interstate moves. Truck size is matched to home size and shipment weight during the quote process.

Are MC Movers trucks insured?

+

Yes. Every truck in our fleet carries commercial auto liability insurance plus cargo liability coverage. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) upon request for buildings or HOAs that require one for move-in or move-out.

Do you use blanket-wrap or container moving?

+

We use traditional blanket-wrap moving with quilted moving pads, shrink wrap, mattress bags, and dollies. This protects furniture during loading and transit. Specialty crating is available as an add-on for high-value items like artwork, antiques, or sensitive electronics.

Are the same trucks used for the entire move?

+

On most long-distance moves, yes, the truck that loads your shipment is the truck that delivers it. On very small shipments (1-bedroom or less moving across the country), we sometimes consolidate with another household on the same route to keep costs lower; in that case the truck still belongs to MC Movers, not a third-party carrier.
